Sample Recipe from The Lazy Cook's Favorite Foods

Marshmallow/Valentine Chocolates

1 pkt marshmallows
100g (4ozs) milk or bitter chocolate
Sugar or silver hearts - optional

"Grandma, can we make some cakes?"

Although, as yet, we do not have grandchildren, I know from my sisters and friends how their grandchildren love helping in the kitchen and especially making cakes - it is often something their Mother's no longer have time to do but when visiting Grandma time passes quickly when little fingers set to work on the flour and fat. The concentration is a joy to behold even though the tasting is often something else!

Warm the chocolate in a basin until it has melted. Drop the marshmallows into the chocolate one at a time and coat. Remove with a fork and place on foil. Peel from foil when set and serve or store in a box.

Serving suggestions - I like to put these into the refrigerator and serve them cold. They can be put into individual chocolate cases and packed into boxes or pretty bags to give as gifts. Children enjoy making them for parents and friends.

Buy the bookLazy Cook tips - use a fork to lift the marshmallows from the chocolate. These make excellent Valentine chocolates if topped with a sugar or silver heart before the chocolate has set.
